Dr Bruna Gouveia
MD, MPhil
Dr. Bruna Gouveia is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatology (FACD) and a medical dermatologist with subspecialty expertise in reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) and non-invasive skin cancer diagnostics.

Originally from Brazil, Dr. Gouveia completed her confocal microscopy fellowship in Sydney at Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) and Westmead Hospitals. She earned both a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and a PhD at The University of Sydney, where her research focused on confocal microscopy for early skin cancer detection. Her specialist training has been accredited by AHPRA and the Australasian College of Dermatologists at The SKin Hospital Darlinghurst, obtaining her FACD.

Dr. Gouveia is an active researcher, pioneering novel non-invasive scoring modalities for cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) and melanoma. She has published extensively in scientific literature and presented her work at international dermatology conferences. Her contributions to the field were recognized with the "Dermatology Rising Star" Award at the World Congress of Dermatology in 2019.

She has a special interest in non-invasive diagnostic techniques, including confocal microscopy, dermoscopy, and clinical photography for the early detection of melanoma in high-risk patients. She is also passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of dermatologists.

Dr. Gouveia has now returned to clinical practice and runs a dedicated Confocal Clinic, where she applies advanced imaging technologies to improve skin cancer diagnosis and patient care. Known for her warm and compassionate approach, she remains committed to advancing dermatology through research, innovation, and education.
